The implementing regulations of both the Act Respecting the Government and Public Employees Retirement Plan and the Act Respecting the Pension Plan of Management Personnel have been modified, respectively by the C.T. 213423 and the C.T. 213424.

Changes to Your Pension Plan

The implementing regulations of both the Act Respecting the Government and Public Employees Retirement Plan and the Act Respecting the Pension Plan of Management Personnel have been modified on December 3, 2013, respectively by the C.T. 213423 and the C.T. 213424.

Those modifications result in changes in the tariff schedules used to calculate the cost of some buy-backs starting on January 1, 2014.

Retirement plans concerned: RREGOP, PPMP, RPSO, TPP and CSSP

Coming into force: January 1, 2014

The buy-backs concerned by those new schedules are the following:

  • Buy-back of an absence without pay for which the application is received more than 6 months following the end of the absence;
  • Buy-back of a parental leave for which the application is received more than 6 months following the end of the leave;
  • Buy-back of service as a casual employee;
  • Buy-back of service in a research centre;
  • Buy-back of service in an organization before it became subject to the pension plan;
  • Buy-back of a compassionate care leave under way on January 1, 2012, or that began after that date, for which the application is received more than 6 months following the end of the leave.
