Pension plan administrator
A pension committee is the administrator of a pension plan, except:
- where the plan has less than 26 members and beneficiaries and administration by the employer is provided for
- where a law grants authority to a person or body to administer the plan
- where a simplified pension plan (SIPP) is administered by a financial institution.
No matter who administers the pension plan, the administration must be organized in a manner that will allow the administrator to properly carry out its role.
