Changes to your pension plan
The Pension Plan of the Judges of the Court of Québec and of Certain Municipal Courts (PPJCQM) and the Pension Plan of Certain Judges Appointed Before 1 January 2001 (PPCJBJ) have been changed on March 1, 2016, in accordance with the bylaws 70‑2016 and 71‑2016.
The changes are presented below.
Changes to the employer's contribution rate for the PPJCQM
Effective date: March 1, 2016
New employer contribution rates took effect on March 1, 2016:
- The employer contribution rate for the Registered Pension Plan (RPP) is equal to: (12.36% x pensionable salary) – contribution paid by the judge to the RPP;
- The employer contribution rate for the Excess Benefit Plan (EBP) is equal to: (31.72% x pensionable salary) – (contribution paid by the judge to the RPP and the RPS + contribution paid by the municipality to the EBP).
Changes to the employer's contribution rate for the PPCJBJ
Effective date: March 1, 2016
New employer contribution rates took effect on March 1, 2016 for the PPCJBJ:
- The employer contribution rate for the Registered Pension Plan (RPP) is equal to 12.35% of the pensionable salary.
- The employer contribution rate for the Excess Benefit Plan (EBP) is 17.15% of the pensionable salary.
These rates apply based on the usual calculation method.
